Object Storage Solution Provides Limitlessly Scalable On-Premises Storage for Data Retention and Disaster Recovery
SAN MATEO, Calif., Feb. 27, 2019 – Cloudian today announced that its HyperStore object storage platform is now certified with HPE StoreOnce Cloud Bank Storage. By enabling external object storage systems and services to be managed by HPE StoreOnce, HPE Cloud Bank Storage provides efficient movement of backup data to these highly cost-effective systems. As a result, Hewlett Packard Enterprise customers can now take advantage of HyperStore’s exabyte-scalable data fabric, geo-distribution, and S3 compatibility, significantly reducing the cost of long-term data retention and disaster recovery. In addition, organizations subject to GDPR regulations can ensure local control of data as they map out where it is stored and protected.
Cloudian HyperStore is the industry’s most S3-compatible on-premises storage platform for unstructured data consolidation, supporting a broad range of use cases, including data protection, media archives, file sharing, medical imaging, and artificial intelligence. With hybrid and multi-cloud interoperability across all major public cloud services, HyperStore provides seamless cloud connectivity for disaster recovery and capacity expansion.
“In the face of never-ending data growth and continued budget pressures, enterprises need low-cost, high-capacity storage for addressing their long-term data protection and archive challenges,” said Jon Toor, chief marketing officer at Cloudian. “Through this expanded collaboration with HPE, we look forward to helping customers leverage the economics, agility, and flexibility of our storage solutions to meet these challenges.”
In addition to providing on-premises data management, HPE StoreOnce Cloud Bank Storage delivers highly efficient data transfer to, and storage in, the cloud. The combination of HPE StoreOnce deduplication and cloud storage delivers low-cost, high-performance and zero-risk long-term retention. Backup data moved to HPE Cloud Bank Storage can be recovered to the same or a different HPE StoreOnce system, providing the flexibility for on-premises or cloud-based recovery.
“HPE is excited to expand the StoreOnce CloudBank ecosystem with the addition of Cloudian HyperStore,” said Roland Frehner, chief technologist and solution program lead, service providers, HPE. “We are the leader in Hybrid IT solutions, providing our customers with an integrated object storage tier for long-term protection of data on-premises and in the cloud.”
